The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area provides a suite of academic
services for African American youth
and their families
or caregivers. These programs prepare youth for academic success
and manhood by accepting, nurturing, and celebrating them and their
experiences. At the foundation of our programs is an an emphasis
on reading, writing and oration. These programs go beyond
education to nurture development that can shield African American
children from violence and harmful behaviors while instilling in them
the principles of community building.
A good education and the ability to read is the foundation of a
thriving community. The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area offers
comprehensive programs that address the educational and emotional needs
of the African American community.
The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area works to secure the necessary
resources to educate the children in our communities. The 100
Black Men of the Bay Area partners with other schools and education
related non-profit organizations and government agencies to promote
education strategies, literacy campaigns, and provide parent education
on the educational needs that are prevalent in the African American
community.
The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area Educational Development Program
is based on the National
Educational Development Program.
To facilitate the
intellectual growth of the students in the community, the 100 Black
Men of the Bay Area is active in monitoring educational policy, trends and their implications for our
youth. The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area engages local, regional, and national leaders and officials who impact educational policies and practices.
In addition, the 100 Black Men of the Bay Area provides forums that address
the educational needs of our youth in our communit
